Paul Ryan, 77, of Clarks Summit ended his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday at Mountain View Care Center. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Mary Ryan.

Born December 30, 1938 in New York City, NY he was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary Cassidy Ryan. He was a graduate of Fordham University and was an employee of Metropolitan Life, where for most of his 39 year career he served as a Programming Manager at the Met Life Data Center in Clarks Summit. A devout Catholic, and a loving husband and father, Paul was a resident of Clarks Summit, and a member of Our Lady of Snows Parish for 43 years.

Paul was a champion benchrest target shooter and a one time world record holder in that sport. He was a lifelong enthusiast of building and flying radio control airplanes, and an avid fisherman and photographer. During his 20 years of retirement he delighted in sharing these hobbies with his children and grandchildren, and friends.

Paul is also survived by his son Paul, and partner Hung Nguyen, San Jose, CA, his daughter, Kathy, at home, his daughter, Jennifer Mc Mahon and her husband,
Jim, Fairfax Station, VA, his daughter Eileen Boland, and her husband Cdr. Matthew Boland USN, Aiea, HI, grandchildren, Zoe, Aidan and Finn Mc Mahon, and Liam and Piper Boland; his sister, Sr. Anne Ryan,PBVM, his twin brother, Joseph Ryan, his brother, Francis Ryan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Paul in death were his brothers John Ryan and Edward Ryan

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Snows Church, 301 South State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow, PA.

Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lawrence Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
