Paul "Kato" Dougherty, 52, of Chinchilla died Saturday morning after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born April 27 th 1964 in Scranton, son of Joseph A. Dougherty, Chinchilla, with whom he resided and the late Ann M. Morgan Dougherty.  He was a 1982 graduate of Abington Heights High School and attended Penn State University.  Kato was a proud member of the VFW 7069 Clarks Summit, the ancient order Hibernians, and the Taurus club of North Scranton.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church Clarks Summit.

Paul was a simple man that never had an unkind word for anyone.  He enjoyed socializing with his friends, singing karaoke, and solving Sudoku and crossword puzzles.  He was an avid Penn State football  fan, and had a love for hunting, golfing, and star trek.

He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and passionate dog lover.

Also surviving are brothers; Mark and his wife Jeannie, Chinchilla, Jerry and his wife Renee, Chinchilla; sister Sharon, Clarks Summit and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death two brothers Joey and Michael.

The family would like to thank Dr. Barsigian, physician assistant Jenn Pierce and staff for the excellent compassion and care during Paul's treatment.

There will be a celebration of life at the VFW Post 7069, 402 Winola Rd., Clarks Summit PA 18411 from 5-7pm on Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 Williams St., Dunmore PA 18510.
