Born in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, England, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Alexina Nolan Barry. She attended school in England and then served in the Women's Royal Air Force as a switchboard operator at RAF Fighter Command.
She and her husband emigrated from England, first to Canada, then to the United States in the 1960s. She was a homemaker while her children were in school, and was well known for attending every sporting event and school function they had. After raising her children she returned to the workforce as a receptionist for Century 21 and later BFI in King of Prussia.
Pat was a people personwho loved conversation, and no one was ever a stranger for long in her presence. She enjoyed time with her family and was very proud of their achievements. Ever supportive of her husband's career, Pat always said one of her proudest accomplishments was making a home for her family in the various communities and states they moved to. Prior to their illnesses, she enjoyed world travel with her husband, and everyday was an adventure to her. She truly enjoyed scrapbooking and chronicled decades of their lives.
Surviving is a son Peter Dartnell, his wife Cheri and their two children Tyler and Kaylee of California; a daughter Kim Boyce, her husband Steve, and his son Jake of Pennsylvania; a sister in law, Jackie Dartnell and a niece Gillian Smith in England.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Diane Reidy and her staff at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital, Dr. Ronjon and staff at the Henry Cancer Center of Geisinger Wyoming Valley, and the nurses from Traditional Home Health and Hospice for their expertise and compassionate care. We are also deeply thankfully for the dedication and kindness of her friends and neighbors.
