Dr. Paramin Udomsak, South Abington Twp., died Monday evening at Geisinger Medical Center in Scranton, Pa.

Born in Songkhla, Thailand, he was the son of the late Prasat and Preung Udomsak. After completing high school, he graduated from Mahieol University Medical School in Bangkok, Thailand. He did an internship at Metropolitan Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minn. Dr. Udomsak completed his surgical residency and was chief resident at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, N.Y. He also served fellowship at Columbia University. Paramin had a private practice on Pittston Avenue in South Scranton. He was then employed as an E.R. doctor at Community Medical Center, Scranton. His most recent employment was with the Lackawanna Medical Group in Scranton, Pa.

Paramin was an avid environmentalist who loved nature and gardening. He was a youth soccer coach and referee and enjoyed following the stock market. He was a member of the American Medical Society and was guest lecturer at the University of Scranton. An avid art lover, he enjoyed painting and playing the flute.Paramin loved socializing, good food and good times, but most of all, spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving are his son, Patrick, daughter-in-law, Dina, and granddaughter, Minka, Dallas; his daughter, Catherine Udomsak and her boyfriend, Jason Heimrich, Clarks Summit; the mother of his children, Barbara Udomsak, Clarks Summit; a brother, Buncha Udomsak; and sisters, Manee Manidool, Montana Udomsak and Sumitra Udomsak, all of Bangkok, Thailand; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.He was also preceded in death by brother, Palit Udomsak; and an infant brother.

A celebration of Paramin's life will be held Friday at 8 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, Pa. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until time of celebration at the funeral home.
