Norma Beatrice MacMillan Dow of Clarks Summit died Friday morning at home after a long illness at age 88. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger L. Dow.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Beatrice MacMillan. Norma worked as a bank teller at several area banking institutions, retiring from PNC. She was a favorite with all the customers, known for her great smile and quick wit.
She was a warm kind- hearted person who made friends with everyone she met. Her joy and laughter were infectious. She was a genuine, caring friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She loved to play golf and cards both locally in the summer and at her winter home in Mesa, Ariz.
Also surviving are two sons, Steve, with whom she resided; and Russ and wife, Stacy, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a daughter, Cherie and husband, Steve Evans, Rochester, N.Y.; a stepgrandchild, Erin; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Riley and Mia.
The family would like to thank Norma's wonderful caregivers in Arizona, Jamie and Simone, and in Pennsylvania, Sue, Stacey and Elana. They would also like to express their deep appreciation to the nurses and staff at Traditional Home Health and Hospice.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
