Neil Phillips

Neil Phillips, of Newton Township, died at his home on Monday morning. He was the widower of the late Ruth Isabelle Seymour Phillips.

Born in Newton Township, he was the son of the late John Phillips and Dorothy Dailey Phillips Kostiak. He was a lifetime self-employed farmer, also working for Eckel Farms.

Surviving are a son, Christopher; Phillip Higginbottom; granddaughter Moira Ruth Phillips; sisters-in-law Bonnie Benedict, Barbara Tompkins, and Naomi Mascaro; daughter-in-law Cindy Phillips; and several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by son John Phillips; daughter Tyneil Phillips-Gable; sisters Evelyn Kinney and Joann Schimelfenig; and brother Mark Phillips.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 6 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 5 pm until time of the service.
