Nancy Ross Ware, Glenburn and Englewood, Fla., passed away Friday after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband of nearly 45 years is Harry L. Ware Jr.

Born on April 19, 1949, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Purdy Ross. She was a realtor for more than 25 years with Nichols Associates and Coldwell Banker. She also worked for the Federal Government in the Census Bureau.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit and First Lady of the British Car Club of NEPA, of which her husband Harry was a founder and 10-year president. She enjoyed her Waverly Deli Porch Group, the Sunshine Club in Englewood, Fla, jazz night on Dearborn Street and sunsets at Stump Pass Marina, as well as her yoga/coffee therapy group and the Laurel Garden Club.

She loved walks on the beach, watching sunsets, orchids and the color green. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Englewood, FL, is known as "God's waiting place" and where she truly loved to be!

She is survived by two daughters, Tami Ware Thompson, Dalton; and Rosey Ware, Mt. Shasta, Calif.; three grandchildren, Sophie and Aidan Thompson and Kirikou Ware-Gaither; brothers, Jim Ross, Jacksonville, Fla.; Dave Ross, Clarks Summit; Jim and Joan Hess, Factoryville; Kris and Bob Rhodes, Ransom; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Ware; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, 300 School St., Clarks Summit. The services will be by the Rev. William Carter.

Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sol Adventures Foundation, 111 McCloud Ave., Unit C, Mt. Shasta, CA 96067, a foundation to help underprivileged children in California and Jamaica.
