Nancy Singer, 94, Clarks Summit, entered eternal rest with her loving family by her side on April 16, 2021. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 41 years, Raymond "Bud" Singer, who passed on Oct. 1, 1987.
Born on March 31,1927, in Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Anna McGroarty Welch. Nancy graduated from Falls Overfield High School in 1945. In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart Bud. She and Bud purchased their Mill City family homestead in 1956 where Nancy resided until July 2019. Her favorite pastime was sitting on her beautiful porch with visitors.
An excellent seamstress and dressmaker, Nancy was employed for more than 25 years at the Falls Dress Factory prior to retiring. She was a longtime member of the Tunkhannock Women's Business Association and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.  Nancy also proudly served a four year term as a Democratic Party Chairman for Wyoming County.
Nancy was known for her delicious baked goods. Her greatest pleasure was making hundreds of cookies for family and friends each year at Christmas. She always had a fresh pie made when anyone came to visit her home. Nancy was affectionately called "Nana" by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a very generous, independent, and strong minded woman. Nancy enjoyed dancing, traveling and socializing with her many friends. She will be deeply missed by all.
Surviving are her children, Robert Singer, and wife, Carol, Boynton Beach, Florida; Patricia Roche, and husband, William, Scranton; grandchildren, Christopher Singer, and wife, Deb, Albany, Oregon; Nicole Pettinato, and husband, Carl, Old Forge; David Singer, Ketchikan, Alaska; Shannon Roche Cusick, and husband, Joseph, Scranton; great-grandchildren, Emily Pettinato, Charlie Pettinato, Tessa Singer, Keira Cusick; brother-in-law, Homer Singer, and wife, Charlotte, Cortland, Illinois; sister-in-laws, Nancy Spitzer Singer, Clarks Summit; Sandy Hopkins, and husband, Bruce, South Abington Twp.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also preceded in death by her sisters Eleanor Beebe, and Marie Davis, brother, Robert Welch, sister-in-law, Romaine Jacques, and brother-in-laws, Clyde "Skip" Singer, Glenn Singer, and companion, Roy W. Piper.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Michael Kondash, the staff of The Pines Senior Living, and Allied Services Hospice Center for their compassionate care of Nancy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit by Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, pastor. Interment will follow at Milwaukee Cemetery. Friends may call at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit from 8:30 a.m. until 9:15 a.m. Please note all CDC guidelines must be observed.
