Nancy Jackson Matthews passed away March 17th, 2016.
She was predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Hamer Jackson, her first husband, George Pios and her second husband, James Matthews.
Nancy was a graduate of Wilkes University. She began her career teaching French in Tunkhannock Area Schools. She became a job recruiter in 1970 and became owner and President of her own business, Nancy Jackson Inc. in 1976.
She was a member of the National Association of Personnel Services and a member of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce as well as a member of the Tunkhannock Business and Professional Women Local.
Nancy was very active in her community, especially with The United Way and its Day of Caring and Telespond. Furthermore, she was active in her church, Trinity Lutheran, in Clark Summit.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 28th at 12 noon at Trinity Lutheran. A luncheon will be served following the service in the church hall.
Donations in Nancy's name may be made to the United Way, Telespond or Trinity Lutheran Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home.
