Nancy G. Mayer, 53 of Dalton, died Saturday evening after a brief battle with a complication from cancer. She was the wife of David Mayer. The couple has been married for twenty nine years.
Born in New Hartford NY, she was the daughter of Robert Dygert and his wife Violet of Clarks Summit and Marie Nallin and her husband John, also of Clarks Summit. She was a graduate of Abington Heights High School and went on to receive her nursing degree from the Mercidian School of practical Nursing in Scranton. Nancy worked for several years as a nurse at Clarks Summit State Hospital and Allied Services. Since 2002, she had been self-employed working alongside her husband David as the owner and operator of Highland Campgrounds and Mayer's Village of Mountain Heights.
Nancy was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and cats. Her hobbies were numerous and included crafting soaps and working in her garden.
Also surviving are two sons Ryan Mayer, Dalton and Brandon Lisk, Throop; two daughters Amy Mayer, State College and Sara Mayer, Dalton; a brother David Dygert, Mechanicsburg Pa; three sisters Sue Porembo, Fleetwood Pa.; Diane Bilyk, The Villages, FL.; and Cheri Fill, Littleton MA.; and several nieces and nephews.
A blessing service will be held on Saturday at 1pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation service Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Dickinson Road, Dalton PA
The family will receive friends Saturday from 11am until time of service at the funeral home.
