Mott Peck Jr., Waverly, died Tuesday evening at his home. His wife of 36 years is the former Ann Detwiler.

Born in Scranton on Aug. 5, 1938, son of the late Mott Sr. and Jean Howell Peck, he attended Waverly Elementary and Clarks Summit Abington schools, graduated from Tabor Academy, Marion, Mass., and Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and boating, and spending his summers in the Thousand Islands. He was a loyal Penn State fan and attended many Penn State football games. Before retirement in 2004, he worked for Morgan Stanley for 38 years.

Also surviving are many cousins, Trudi Hamm, attorney David Howell, John Howell, Steve Howell, attorney Otto Robinson, Lois Robinson, Janice Yost, Martha Burgess, Virginia Lawrence and James Peck.

A blessing service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Lee Havey, C.P. Friends may call Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.
