Mildred Sholler LaCoe, Newton Twp, died Saturday morning at the Mountain View Care Center. She was the widow of Allan R. "Shiner" LaCoe who died in 2005. The couple was married for 59 years.
Born in Newton Township she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Alice Sholler. Millie worked on the family farm for many years as well as a nurse's aide at the Clarks Summit State Hospital; later she would work for Brace's in their stand at the Scranton Farmers Market. She was a member of the Countryside Community Church.
Millie was very proud of her little garden, "The Barn Yard" for all to drive by and enjoy. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and always helping and caring for her family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Lynn LaCoe, Newton Twp. and Karen Fenocchi, Dalton; a son Richard LaCoe and his wife Regina, Ransom Twp.; Grandchildren Kevin LaCoe and his wife Christina, Brian LaCoe, Maria Murnock and her husband John, Jennifer Mott and her husband JJ, Alyssa Ryczak and her husband Frank, and Amy Keiper and her fiancée Brian Gray; twelve great grandchildren.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister Irene Walter, a brother William Sholler and a son in law Carl Fenocchi.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Mark Terwilliger, pastor of the Countryside Community Church with interment to follow in Newton Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
