Mildred Kline, 83, of Dalton died peacefully Friday at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Ben Kline MD. The couple had recently celebrated their 56th anniversary on June 3.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John A. Murray MD and Helen Reibert. Mildred was a graduate of Patton High School. She continued her education at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia where she earned her nursing diploma. Following her studies at Jefferson Hospital, she continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh where she received her degree in nursing education. Later she returned to Jefferson Hospital to teach obstetrical nursing. Upon marrying the love of her life, she became a homemaker to raise her three boys in Dalton. She was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church where she donated much of her time.
Swimming and horseback riding were her childhood passions. She loved golf, tennis and skiing. She also enjoyed gardening, playing bridge as well as watching movies on on her iPad. Above all else, she took pride in raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all her health care providers especially those who cared for her during her final days.
Also surviving are three sons, John Kline, and wife Johanna, Mt. Kisco, NY; Michael Kline MD, and wife Danielle, Dalton; Benjamin Kline MD, and wife Pamela, Sinking Spring, PA; six grandchildren Mackenzie, Tucker, Mikhaila, Calista, Benjamin, and Luke; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 am from the Dalton United Methodist Church 125 S. Turnpike Rd. Dalton. Interment will be private at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc.
In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to the Dalton UMC, 125 S. Turnpike Rd. Dalton, PA 18414.
