Michael Rusinko, Clarks Green, died Saturday morning in his home. He wife is the former Helena Bambach, the couple celebrated their 71 wedding anniversary this past December 12th.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Peter and Anna Holblack Rusinko. He was a resident of Clarks Green for over 50 years. Prior to retirement he was the Superintend of Maintenance for the Abington Heights School District for 20 years.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit, Waverly Lodge No. 301 F. &A.M., Abington Consistory, Irem Temple Shrine and Tall Cedars of Lebanon NE PA Forest 137. A former member of the Clarks Green Borough Council for 10 years and a former member of the Abington Lions Club.
Also surviving are a son, Richard and his wife, Marie, Barnagat, NJ; a daughter Sharon Knapp, Gilbertsville, PA; five grandchildren, Douglas Knapp, Susan Gerrity, Frank Knapp, Gina Longo, and Peter Rusinko; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and a grandson, Michael.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at noon from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. George J. Mathews, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Clarks Summit. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8pm, Masonic Services will be held at 7PM.
