Michael Andrejco, 89, of Fleetville, passed away on June 21, 2018, at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton.
He was born on October 1, 1928 in Scranton to the late George and Mary Ann (Blasko) Andrejco. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and attended Temple University. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and fought in the Korean War.
He was a retired Setup Foreman at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Scranton. Michael was known for being mechanically inclined and able to fix televisions and radios. He was on no medications, ate healthy, and was a marathon runner in his younger days. As a result, he enjoyed good health for almost 90 years. He was known as a wonderful polka dancer and one of his favorite dance partners was his sister, Agnes, who died earlier this month.
Michael was a member of Our Lady of the Snows, Clarks Summit, and the Abington Memorial VFW Post #7069. He was also a member of the Fleetville Fire Company for over 55 years.
Michael is survived by his sisters, Marion Kupcho, Clarks Summit; Veronica Stugus, Fleetville, and Irene McCabe, Factoryville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and godchildren. He was predeceased in death by his brother George Andrejko, Jr. and his sisters Margaret Murphy, Anna Horvat, Helen Bigger, Elizabeth Keegan, and Agnes Josephite.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 12 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S State St, Clarks Summit, PA 18411. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Greek Catholic Cemetery, Minooka.
