Melba Reba Rozelle Capwell, died Sunday evening at Chester County Hospital in West Chester. She was the wife of Donald Capwell. The couple has been married for 63 years.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Leona Sayre Rozelle. She was a graduate of Fleetville High School. Prior to her retirement she was a cafeteria supervisor for Abington Heights School District for twenty years. She is a member of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.
Several of Melba's passions were gardening and cooking/baking. Gardening both vegetables after growing up on a farm and flowers with the iris being a favorite flower around the house. She loved cooking and baking for the family, and professionally for the school district and restaurants; pies were a specialty.
Surviving is a daughter Laura Dietrich and her husband Bob, Downingtown; two sons Thomas Capwell, Lincoln University; and Gary Capwell, Tucson AZ.; and a granddaughter Jennifer Dietrich.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:30am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18441. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends may call Thursday from 10:30am until time of service
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Clarks Summit United Methodist Church.
