McClellan F. Rosenkrans, Lathrop Twp., Susquehanna County, PA died Wednesday morning in his
home. His wife is the former Gladys Nystrand, the couple celebrated their 57th wedding
anniversary last June.
Born in Stillwater, NJ, son of the late Floyd J. And Laura Hill Rosenkrans, Prior to his
retirement he was a self employed contractor and a resident manager for a Y.M.C.A. in
Fairview Lake, NJ. He was an Army Air Core Veteran of World War II where he served as a
tail gunner in Europe. He was a member of Parker Hill Community Church and a former
Secretary of the Board of Education for the Stillwater Twp. School District as well as
serving on the board of Adjustments and as the Twp. Building Inspector in Stillwater NJ.
He was a former Deacon and Elder of the Stillwater Presbyterian Church and a founding
member of the Stillwater Historical Society. He was member of the V.F.W in Newton, NJ.
His first priority in his life was his family. He was an avid outdoors man, especially
enjoying bird watching and wood cutting. He was an author of two books of his memoirs
and he was an extensive world traveler.
He was preceded in death by a son, David.
Also surviving are a son, Danny and his wife, Arlene, Tonsina, Alaska; a daughter, Lynn
Meyer and her husband, Edward, Sussex, NJ; a brother, Rolland, Montague, NJ; ten
grandchildren, Beth, David Jr., Vera, Garrett, Laura, Hannah and Dirck Rosenkrans,
Heather, Leigh, and Sarah Meyer; one great grandson, Connor Rosenkrans; nieces and
nephews.
A funeral will be Monday February 11th 2008 at 9:30am from the Parker Hill Community Church, 607 N.
Abington Rd., Clarks Summit,PA with services by Rev. Robert Gattorna. Interment will be
in Stillwater Cemetery, Stillwater, NJ at 3:00pm Monday February 11th 2008
Friends may call on Sunday, February 10th 2008 from 6-8pm at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral
