Maryann Habeeb

MaryAnn Habeeb, Waverly, died on Wednesday at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and MaryAnn Gilarde. She was a 1970 graduate of Dunmore Central Catholic High School, then earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from East Stroudsburg University. She was a Registered Nurse, medical sales entrepreneur, and real estate investor. She was owner and operator of OrthoCare Concepts. MaryAnn was a loving mother, aunt, and friend who was extremely generous not only to her family, but to all she met. She was a dedicated animal advocate who rescued hundreds of animals throughout her life.

Surviving are sons Gregory, Factoryville, and John, Waverly; daughter Jennifer of Hoboken, New Jersey; and nephews Patrick and Michael Diskin and Joseph and Dana Diskin.

She was preceded in death by sister JoAnn Diskin and brother-in-law William Diskin.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Church of Saint Gregory, 330 North Abington Rd., Clarks Green, Pa. 18411, by Rev. John Lapera, pastor. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1 to 3 pm at Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit.
