Mary A. Tompkins

Mary A. Tompkins, 87, of Factoryville, died early Saturday morning at Abington Manor Nursing Facility.

Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Anna Trusklowski Jablonski, she was a graduate of Dickson City High School and, before retirement in 1994, she was employed at Schott Glass. Mary was a member of the Clarks Green Assembly of God as well as Fellowship Baptist Church in Dalton. For many years she enjoyed volunteering at Allied Rehab Center.

Mary was "Meema" to her grandchildren. Meema loved taking walks, cooking and baking with her grandchildren.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Kreidler Kopp and her husband, Raymond, Windsor, N.Y.; two sons, David W. Tompkins and his wife, Barb, Dalton; and Robert J. Tompkins and his wife, Mary, Scranton; nine grandchildren, Tammy Kreidler, David Tompkins Jr., Joseph Farrell, Dianna Tompkins-Jones, Cindy Sebring, Renee Williams, Tanya Cogliette, Laura Tompkins and Robert Tompkins Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tricia Kreidler; two sisters, Ann Jablonski and Helen Tomczyk; and three brothers, Stanley, Frank and Joseph Jablonski.

Mary loved her Lord and Savior and said that she will have great joy being with the Lord and seeing all those who have gone before her.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
