Mary C. Rozelle of Clarks Summit died Tuesday, Jan. 15, at St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst, two weeks before her 103rd birthday. Her husband, Arthur F. Rozelle, died in 1992.

Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late David W. and Elizabeth Richards Carr. She was a graduate of Penn State University. Before retirement in 1965, she was an English teacher at Blakely High School for 35 years.

Her great passion in life was the writings of William Shakespeare, a passion she shared with the many students she taught. In her 102nd year, she still recited her favorite passages from "Macbeth."

She will be remembered, with love by her friend, Gisele Silvestri, and her devoted caregiver, MaryEllen Moran.

Surviving are a great-niece, MaryAnn Goodman Fish, and family members, William Fish, AnnaBeth and Daniel Fish of Quakertown.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Evan J. Carr; and sister, Annabel Allgood.

A funeral service and interment will take place on April 13 at 11 am, in Hickory Grove cemetery in Waverly.

As per her request, there will be no calling hours.
