Mary Louise Bluhm

Mary Louise "Lou" Bluhm 96, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, in Lehigh Acres, FL.

Born on August 14, 1929, in Lebanon, PA. Mary Lou was the daughter of Alan and Dorothy Kreichbaum. She grew up alongside her siblings Richard Kreichbaum and Joan Maher, all of whom predeceased her. In addition, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ervin Bluhm; her son Gary Bluhm; daughter-in-law Beth Bluhm; and granddaughter Kellie Jo Bluhm.

Mary Lou is survived by her children: Jeffrey Bluhm (Betsy) of Fort Myers, FL; David Bluhm (Gazile) of Tunkhannock, PA; and Karen Brown (James) Tunkhannock, PA. She also leaves behind 9 grandchildren-Michael, Nathanial, Stephen, Heather, Richard, Kimberly Bluhm; Laurie Ayler, Tristin Kalivoda and Justin Brown-along with 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes several nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart.

Mary Lou especially loved to cook and bake which she became very popular for. She also had an undeniable knack for shopping and took pride in finding the best sales and bargains-a talent that became one of her trademarks! As a grandmother, Mary Lou loved playing games with her young grandchildren. She later developed a deep love for card games and became an avid player. She also loved to read often reading 2-3 books in a week.

After moving into independent living in Ft. Myers in 2019, Mary Lou enjoyed her newfound friends and the many activities they did. Until suffering a stroke this past Mother's Day, she was a regular at Bingo games where she often emerged victorious. One of Mary Lou's greatest joys was traveling. She shared many wonderful winters with her husband Erv exploring the beauty of Maui. She learned to play the ukulele and loved creating flower arrangements. She treasured the friendships she made there as well as visits of friends and family from back home. Maui provided countless cherished memories that Mary Lou carried with her throughout all of her life.

Above all else, she loved her family. Her grandchildren held an especially dear place in her heart; their happiness brought immense pride to her life. May those who knew Mary Lou find comfort in their memories and be at peace knowing that she is finally with the Lord.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mary Lou's Celebration of Life which will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM from the Marcho, Sheldon, and Kukuchka Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tunkhannock Public Library, 220 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
