Mary Kislus of South Abington Twp. died on Tuesday morning at Moses Taylor Hospital after being stricken ill at home. She was the widow of John Kislus, who died March 23, 1986.
Born in Scranton on June 5, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Ditchkus Noreika. She grew up near Lake Winola and was a 1939 graduate of Falls-Overfield High School. She was a member of St. Gregory's Parish, Clarks Green, and a former member of St. Joseph's Lithuanian Church in Scranton. Before retirement, she was a cook for Adrian's Restaurant and the Ryah House, as well as later working for St. Pius X Seminary in Dalton.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara, with whom she resided; and Mary Ann Malecki and husband, Dale; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph, Adam, William and John Noreika; and two sisters, Anna Drobish and Helen Gavlinski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Church of St. Gregory, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, by the Rev. John M. Lapera, pastor. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 until time of Mass.
