Mary Ann Gilarde

Mary Ann Gilarde of Clarks Summit passed away on Monday, January 4 ^th at her home after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Joseph Gilarde who passed away December 4, 1991.

Born in Scranton and raised in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Halick. Mary Ann was a graduate of Dunmore High School and was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and spent most of her life caring for them.  She loved going to her grandchildren's baseball and football games.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Habeeb, of Waverly Township and six grandchildren: Gregory Habeeb, Factoryville, Jennifer Habeeb and John Habeeb, Waverly Township, Patrick Diskin, Pittston, Joseph Diskin and his wife Dana Diskin, Waverly Township, and Michael Diskin, Scranton. She is also survived by several in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter JoAnn Diskin and son-in-law William Diskin, Clarks Summit; sister Margaret Costanzo, and nephew Constitine Costanzo.

She had many friends and will be greatly missed by them and her family.

Per her request, there will be no viewing.  Friends and family are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Church, with services by Rev. Stephen A. Asomah, Assistant Pastor. Due to COVID-19, masks will be required and social distancing must be observed for all who attend.  Interment to follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery, Covington Township.
