Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Zeiss, Milwaukee, Ransom Twp., died Tuesday afternoon at the Abington Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Casper and Bertha Line Arnold, she was a resident of Ransom Twp. since 1940. She was a member of the former Milwaukee United Methodist Church, Eastern Star Juanita Chapter 8 and the Foster Parents Association.
Her passion and joy in life was being a foster parent, opening her home to more than 100 children over a period of 40 years.
Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Castellani and husband, Victor, Milwaukee; Karen Hesbacher, Deerfield, Fla.; and Cynthia Zeiss, Fairfax, Va.; four grandchildren, Marchelle, Vikki, Stephanie and Melanie; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Parks.
The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Countryside Community Church, Newton-Ransom Boulevard, with services by the Rev. Phillip Wanck. Interment will be in Milwaukee Cemetery.
