Martin Saxon, 93, of Tunkhannock passed away Monday, October 5, 2026, at Geisinger Community Center, Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara (Shampack) Saxon.

Born on May 4, 1933, in Swoyersville, PA, he is the son of the late Michael and Anna (Lacher) Saxon.

Martin was a 1951 graduate of Swoyersville High School. Following graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War.

After completing his military service, Martin served as a Pennsylvania State Police officer from 1954 to 1956. He later began a career as a draftsman with Bendix, where he worked for 16 years. Martin then joined Procter & Gamble, where he continued his career until his retirement in 2001.

Martin was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.

In his free time, Martin enjoyed working around the yard and woodworking. He also had a love for the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Photography was another favorite pastime, allowing him to capture the people, places, and moments that were meaningful to him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Daniel Saxon and wife Trina; daughter, Sandra Lane and husband David; grandchildren, Eric Saxon and wife Elizabeth, Alex Lane; great grandchildren, Emelia and Aubrey Saxon; 1 niece and 1 nephew.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Albert, and James Saxon; sister, Veronica Saxon.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Martin's memory can be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
