Martha Kelkenberg, Clarence Center, New York, went home to be with the Lord on October 4 after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was married to Orin Kelkenberg for 28 years.
Born in Scranton on September 27,1960, she was the daughter of Alice (Wells) and the late Rollin Williams formerly of Clarks Summit. She graduated from Abington Heights High School in 1978 and received a BS in Nursing from Cedar Crest College in 1982. She lived for 28 years with her family in upstate New York and was most recently employed as a Registered Nurse by the Erie County Home, Lancaster NY.
Martha loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved her family and friends with all of her heart. Martha enjoyed life, especially caring for children, youth and the elderly and brought joy to those who were blessed to have contact with her. She was deeply involved as a Young Life Committee Woman and with Companionship for the Elderly, church visitation, and Sunday soup & sandwich at Clarence United Methodist Church. She organized the Young Life basket auction and greatly enjoyed crafting and quilting.
Also surviving are two daughters, Genna, New Bern, NC, and Mary, at home, two sisters, Alice (David) Coult, Oley, PA and Lori Keith, Miami, OK as well as nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 South State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will follow in the Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 12:00 until the time of service.
