Martha Sparks of Newton Twp. died Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter. She was the widow of Martin Sparks.
Born in Swoyersville, she was the daughter of the late John and Constance Bilunis Urban. Before retiring, she was employed in the garment industry at various facilities. She was a member of the Church of St. Benedict. She thoroughly enjoyed her great-grandchildren and spending time with her family.
The family wishes to thank the VNA Hospice, and especially Karin and Amy, for their support and concern in this time of need.
Surviving are a daughter, Bernadette O'Malley and husband, Michael, Newton Twp.; a grandson, Brian O'Malley and wife, Kim, Clarks Summit; three great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Jillian and Benjamin; two sisters, Connie Waskiewicz and Irene Collura; and a brother, John Urban.
She also was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Urban; and two sisters, Ronnie Piazza and Dolly Dzurek.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. from the Church of St. Benedict, Newton Ransom Boulevard, Clarks Summit. Friends are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will be private at the family's convenience.
