Martha Kairis

Martha Kairis, 22, tragically lost her precious life in an auto accident near Kutztown, PA on Tuesday morning, June 13, 2017.

Born 1994, in Anchorage, Alaska, she was the daughter of Glenda Clark Kairis Deutsch, Lords Valley, and Jerry Kairis, Clarks Summit.

She was a 2013 graduate of Abington Heights High School, where she served as a member of the school's Choral Society for four years.

Three weeks ago Martha received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kutztown University with a major in Professional Writing. She additionally earned minors in Entrepreneurship, Communication Studies, Public Relations, Advertising and News Media. She graduated cum laude in the honors program and received numerous leadership and academic awards for her writing ability and academic excellence. She also excelled in photography.

During her short journey though the path of life, Martha never failed to bring a smile to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by the many who loved her.

Also surviving is her fiancé, Justin Walter; step father, Alexander Deutsch; and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Tennessee.

A Celebration of Martha's Life will be held Saturday at 2 pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service at 2 pm.
