Marjorie Thayer Foster of South Abington Twp. died Friday evening at the NEPA Hospice unit in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the wife of Donald T. Foster, to whom she had been married for 67 wonderful years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Victor D. and Stella Kolb Thayer. She was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and taught English for SCOLA for 12 years. Before retirement, she was the manager of the Keystone College bookstore. She was an active member of Dalton United Methodist Church for more than 63 years. One of her greatest joys was baking for her family and friends.

Also surviving are three children, Donna Altschul and husband, Bob, Tucson, Ariz.; Deborah Spedding and husband, James, Scott Twp.; and Larry Foster and wife, Nancie Connolly, Arlington, Va.; three grandchildren, Nathan Mercuri, Melissa Mercuri and Alison Foster; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Brian Lucas, pastor of Dalton United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Abington Hills Cemetery, South Abington Twp.
