Marion E. Lewert, formerly of Clarks Summit, died Sunday morning at St. Mary's Villa Residence. She was the widow of Arthur Lewert, who died in 1992.
Born in Pittston, daughter of the late James and Esther Swift Walsh, she was a resident of Clarks Summit for more than 55 years and before retirement, she was a sales clerk for Samter Brothers in Scranton. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit. A former member and past president of the Abington Women's Club, she was active in the PTA as well as a past president and a proud member of the Clarks Summit VFW Post 7069 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Garbarini and husband, Gabe, Mount Pocono, and Fort Lauderdale Beach, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and James Walsh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Snows Church, 301 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
