Marion Winters Burke died Friday at her home in Newton Twp. She is survived by her husband, Edward J. Burke. The couple had been married for 46 years.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late James and Deborah Winters, she was a resident of Newton Twp. for the past 20 years, previously having lived in Apalachin, N.Y. She was of the Baptist faith. She was employed by Hillcrest Lamp Shade Co., and worked for a period for IBM Federal Systems, Owego, N.Y. She attended Taylor High School and graduated from Binghamton High School. She was a graduate of Endicott International Beauty School, and was a registered beautician. She operated a small beauty shop in Endicott, N.Y. She was a meticulous cook, homemaker and seamstress.
Also surviving are a son, Edward F., Newton; a brother and two sisters. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
A blessing service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by the Rev. Jason Soltysiak. Interment, Milwaukee Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, 10 until the service.
