Marion (Wini) Baldwin, 95, of Clarks Summit, died on Saturday at Regional Hospital, Scranton.
Wini was the last survivor of seven siblings. After high school in Scranton, she came to live and work with her aunt and uncle (Edith and Butch James) and their two children (Mehria and Jimmer) at their grocery store in Factoryville. It was there that she met and eventually married the love of her life, Dale Buddy Baldwin. It was he who introduced her to horses, rodeo and trick riding. The couple operated Baldwin Stables and she became the star trick rider. She spent the next 70+ years doing what she loved, whether she was working in her garden, caring for her animals, or cooking on her antique coal stove. The meals she prepared were guaranteed to keep the love of her life right there beside her. Dalton will miss this little lady.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Lee Conklin; and son, Dale S. Baldwin. She lost her daughter, Amy Dee Wheaton in 1999. She was blessed with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Pastor Robin Fillmore. Friends may call from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at a later date at Fairlawn Cemetery, Dalton.
