Marilyn A. Champlin, Clarks Summit, died Saturday morning at the Jewish Home, Scranton. She was the wife of Edmund Champlin. They were married on April 18, 1964.
Born in Clarks Summit, daughter of the late Wallace and Mary Ann Nichols Walter, she was a member of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and a former member of the Schultzville United Methodist Church. Marilyn was always a pleasure to be around; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Also surviving are three daughters, Judith Mensinger and husband, Chip, Lake Winola; Kathleen Champlin, Newton Twp.; and Tanya Miller and husband, Daniel, Scott Twp.; a son, Brian Champlin and wife, Cheri, Newton Twp.; sisters, Geraldine Cramer, East Stoudsburg; Diane Petry, Berwick; and Geraldine Ancherani, Factoryville; grandchildren, Alicia Tench, Eric Landsiedel, Travis Landsiedel, Maura Mensinger, Alexandria Miller, Evan Miller, Breeanna Champlin and Edmund Champlin; great-grandchildren, Lily Landsiedel, Owen and Eathan Tench; daughters-in-law, Cindy Champlin and Judy Champlin.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Patrick, in 1998; sisters, Marie Rome, Ruth Ginley, Jeanne Franks, Thelma Foreman and Joan Ayres; and brothers, Richard, Wallace, Woodrow and Byron Walter.
The family would like to sincerely thank the nurses and staff at the Jewish Home for the compassionate care given to Marilyn during her stay.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Andrew Weidner, pastor of Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Leach Cemetery.
Friends may call Monday, 5 to 8 p.m.
