Marie Washo, 91, of Throop, died Monday morning at Lackawanna Health Care Center in Olyphant. She was the wife of the late Michael Washo, who died in 1991.
Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Cecelia Filipek.
She was a graduate of Dickson City High School and prior to her retirement she was a seamstress for Scranton Garment Factory. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Throop.
Marie enjoyed spending time in her garden working with her flowers.
Surviving is a daughter Ellen Heir, Montreal Canada; two sons David and his wife Janet, Clarks Summit; and Michael and his wife Janet, Hartford Ct.; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers Edward, Ted, and, Edwin Filipek, and three sisters Regina Kubash, Pearl O'Malley, and Helen DeFazio.
The funeral and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
