Marie Therese Notarianni, 86, originally from Clarks Green, died Tuesday afternoon at Dunmore Health Care Center in Dunmore. She was the wife of the late William J. Notarianni, who died in 2003.
Born in Wyndmoor, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Elizabeth Mastroni Altomare. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, graduated from Chestnut Hill College and earned a Lab Tech degree from University of Pennsylvania. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a Med Tech in Germantown, Pa.
She was a member of the Church of St. Gregory's, Clarks Green.Marie enjoyed quilting, reading and cooking wonderful meals for her extended family. She enjoyed spending time at the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey. Marie also volunteered with the Scranton Philharmonic as well as at Lourdesmont School in Clarks Summit.
Marie was a loving daughter, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are three sons, Joseph Michael Notarianni and his wife, Mary Ann, Portsmouth, Va.; William Notarianni and his wife, Laura, S. Abington; and Dr. Michael Notarianni and his wife, Kimberly, Fairfax, Va.; two daughters, Dr. Diane Notarianni and her husband, Dr. Hugh Harris, Tucson, Ariz.; and Karla Notarianni, Ithaca, N.Y.; three brothers, Karl Altomare and his wife, Lucy, Lansdale, Pa.; James Altomare and his wife, Joyce, Walnut Creek, California; and Philip Altomare and his wife, Mary, Fort Washington, Pa.; a sister, Elizabeth Bishop, Worthington, Ohio; twelve grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Jeffrey ,Kaitlyn, Brian, Paige, Claire, Elyse, Will, Spencer and Madison Rose Notarianni, and Hayden Michael Harris; one great-grandson, Joseph James Notarianni; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Church of St. Gregory's, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, with service by Rev. John Lapera, pastor. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
