Margaret Williams, 93, of Clarks Summit, died Monday at the Mountain View Care Center. She was the wife of the late William H. Williams who passed away in 1995.
Born March 21, 1925, daughter of the late Thomas Foss and Mary Elliott Foss, Margaret was raised in North Scranton and was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, class of 1943. She worked at Leonard's Pharmacy and was a private duty nurse for many years.
Margaret was fun-loving, giving and caring. She loved spending time with friends and family. She had fond memories of summers at Lake Wallenpaupack.
Margaret is survived by a son, William T. and wife Kaaren, Clarks Summit, and daughter Jill Gorgas and husband Robert, Wildwood, Missouri, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Foss, Jr., and her sister, Joan Alysworth.
The family would like to thank the nurses and CNAs at the Mountain View Care Center for the special care given to Margaret over the past year.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5
th
at 5:30 pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, PA, to be celebrated by Reverend Glenn Amos. Friends may call from 2 pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lackawanna Blind Association, 228 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18503.
