Margaret J. Leavesley, 98, of Clarks Summit, died Friday evening at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She was the wife of the late Charles D. Leavesley Sr. who died in 2000.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Emma Kuintzle Hoffman. She was a graduate of Olney High School in Philadelphia and was employed as an insurance office manager but most of her life was dedicated to caring for her family. She was a member of the Chinchilla United Methodist Church.
Margaret was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 56 in Abington, a member of the Pa. Motor Home Association, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also an avid Doll Collector and enjoyed traveling in her motor home.
Surviving are three sons Robert H. Leavesley and his wife Ruth, Hatboro; Charles D. Leavesley Jr. and his wife Connie, S. Abington Twp.; and Gary W. Leavesley and wife Linda, Red Lion; a daughter Carol Thomas and her husband David, Shavertown; a sister Lillian Arnold, OR.; a sister-in-law Elzada Leavesley, Sarasota Fl.; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will held Saturday at 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411. Interment will follow Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8pm at the funeral home.
