Margaret M. Ferrante

Margaret M. Ferrante, Lackawanna County Health Care Center, Olyphant, formerly of New York died Wednesday morning at Mercy Hospital. She was the widow of John Bryce who died in 1971 and Ludovico Ferrante who died in 2009.

Born in Pittston, she was daughter of the late Andrew and Nellie Koveleski Pasco. She was a resident of Olyphant for the past four years, and prior to that she lived most of her life in New York.

Prior to her retirement she was a clerk for the New York City Court System. She attended the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green.

Surviving are two daughters; Margaret Hodge and her husband Joel, Clarks Summit; and Elizabeth Atchison and her husband Peter, Orange Beach, AL; a son; William Bryce and his wife, Martha, Louisville, KY; two step children, Margaret Giaquinto, Patchogue, NY and Josephine Scaglione, Nesconset, NY; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren, nine step grandchildren and twenty step great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Bryce; two sisters, Helen Elderd and Elizabeth Pasco; a brother, William Pasco; and a grandchild, John Bryce.

The funeral will be held Monday from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit with Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in the Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green to be celebrated by Msgr. John Louis, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY Monday at 1pm.

Friends may call Saturday from 2-5pm at the funeral home.
