Madeline G. Snyder, Clarks Summit, died Thursday evening at Geisinger Community Medical Center. Her husband was the late William J. Snyder.
Born in Lake Winola, daughter of the late John and Fay Van Auken Clark, she was the valedictorian of Overfield High School, class of 1944. Madeline was the strongest, most understanding, caring and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter and friend to all the lives she touched, with a reassuring smile and warm heartfelt ways. Heaven just needed its angel back.
Also surviving are her children, William and Michael, Clarks Summit; Paul, Hawaii; Fay Ann Macik and husband, John, Milan, Pa.; Helen Cannon, Scranton; Betty and husband, David Holden, Lake Winola; Kathy Marcinkevich, Scranton; Mary Stefalo, Factoryville; Theresa Snyder, Scranton; Michele and husband, Elmer Waddell, Arizona; Madeline and husband, George MacChleri, Florida; and Lucy Vinskofski, Taylor; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and John Clark; and a sister, Betty Michowloski.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Friends may call from 5 until the service.
