Lynda May Amos

Lynda May Whipple Amos, Scranton, died Friday evening in Wilkes-Barre. She was married to William T. Amos in 2004.

Born in Bryn Mawr, daughter of Judith Nesbitt White, Scranton, and the late Rev. Frederick Whipple, Lynda was a 1978 graduate of Dunmore High School.

Surviving are a son and daughter; four grandchildren, Dixie, Ford and Elsa Bennie, Archbald; and Frederick Volz, Dupont; a brother, Jeffrey Ellis, Oregon; and two sisters, Kathleen Whipple, Wilkes-Barre; and Sandra Stevens, Iowa.

A memorial service will be Thursday at 6 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lynda's memory to the donor's favorite charity.
