Lydia Dorothy Ross, 90, of Dalton, died Monday afternoon at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. She was the widow of William H. Ross, who died in 1987.

Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Kathryn Morris Artfitch. Before her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for Irene Sports Wear and Smart Styles in Clarks Summit for 35 years. She was the union shop steward for ILGWU for 15 years.Lydia enjoyed gardening and football, especially the Green Bay Packers.But the main passion in her life was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are three sons, William Ross and his wife, Jeannette, Monticello, N.Y.; David Ross, Avoca; and Kevin Ross, Dalton; four daughters, Betty Beeman, Dunmore; Dorothy Santicchi and her husband, Michael, Dalton; Marilyn Vaow, Dalton; and Anita Ball and her husband, Kenneth, Factoryville; a brother, Edward Artfitch, Wilkes-Barre; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Henry R. Ross; three brothers, Julius, August and Otto Artfitch; and three sisters, Anna Colger, Elsie Mikula and Emma Artfitch Radkiewicz McAloon.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 7 p.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Lori Robinson, pastor of the Dalton United Methodist Church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Fairlawn cemetery, Dalton.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
