Lt. Albina B. Gustaitis, 88, U.S.N. retired, passed away of pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, October 23, 2013.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Petronella Zabelskis Gustaitis.

Prior to her retirement, she was an American Red Cross nurse. She was proud of her Catholic faith and Lithuanian heritage.

She was a former member of St. Joseph's Lithuanian Catholic Church.Albina enjoyed singing, dancing, ice skating and spending time with her precious nieces and nephews.

She was a very special Lady and she left many wonderful memories for her family to share with each other.

Surviving are two nieces, Barbara Carvajal, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Dorothy Trauger and her husband, Russ, Lake Winola; four nephews, John Noreika; and Paul Noreika and his wife, Diana, all of Lake Winola; John Gustaitis and wife, Kay, Fidalgo, Texas; Jerry Gustaitis and his wife, Felecia, Arlington, Texas; and her sister-in-law, Wilma Gustaitis, El Paso, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and John Gustaitis; and her sister, Adele Noreika.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from St. Mary's of the Lake Parish, 1872 Dalton Road., Lake Winola, Pa. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's of the Lake Parish or St. Mary of the Lake Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth Mother of God Convent, 215 Wellwood Drive, Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
