Louise Yarima of Clarks Summit died Friday evening at the Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of Edward Yarima, who died in 1987.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Carmella Cavallaro Palumbo, she had been employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry and was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church and also the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

Louise's family would like to thank the staff of Allied Skilled Nursing and Hospice St. John for the wonderful care that she received.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Monelli and husband, Ralph, Clarks Summit; Barbara Biggar, Tunkhannock; and Kim Blasko and husband, Alfred, Scranton; five grandchildren, Thomas E. and Chad J. Biggar, Jennifer Sarafinko, Alexander Monelli and Brianna Blasko; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Fahey, Old Forge; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Michael, Pat and Daniel Palumbo; a sister, Angeline Gatto; and a grandson, David Blasko.

A blessing service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, by Monsignor James McGarry, pastor of Our Lady of the Snows Church. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
