Louis A. Redmond Jr. of Falls died Wednesday in Moses Taylor Hospital. He was the husband of the late Louise M. Loucks Redmond, who died in 2003.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Louis A. Sr. and Hildegard Singer Redmond, he was a resident of Falls for the past 47 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and earned the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. He was employed as a truck driver for Kettells Greenhouse and attended Falls United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Louis A. Redmond III, Yoder, Wyo.; and Charles Redmond, Colorado Springs, Colo.; six daughters, Kathleen Evans, LaPlata, Md.; Elizabeth La Borde; Atlanta; Susan Moore, Scranton; Donna Sturdevant, Wilkes-Barre; Melissa Gast, Kentucky; and Theresa Richardson, Virginia; a brother, Arthur Redmond, and a sister, Patricia King, both of Marcy, N.Y.; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cinda Webber; six brothers, Robert, Clarence, Joseph, Kenneth, Gerald and John; two sisters; and a grandson, Michael Williams.
A funeral service will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Glendale.
