Loretta R. Thompson

Loretta R. Thompson, 89, Clarks Summit, passed away Wednesday morning at the Allied Services Hospice Unit surrounded by family .  She was the widow of Richard Thompson who passed away in 2010.

Born in Ransom Twp., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Schultheis.   Prior to her retirement,she was employed by Sears and Roebuck in the catalog department.   Loretta was a social member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7069 in Clarks Summit.  She enjoyed crochet ing , puzzles, and cards,  especially the game Bonanza.

Most of all she loved her family, baking and cooking for them , and spending holidays togethe r.

The family would like to thank Dr. Lisa Robertson and the entire staff at Allied Services for the love and compassion given to Loretta.

Surviving are two sons Richard and his wife Paula, Newton Twp., and Kevin and his wife Debbie, Newton Twp.; a daughter, Kathy Schwartztrauber, Newton Twp; grandchildren Mark Cummings and his wife Sarah, Dawn Hnat and her husband Kyle; Josh S ch wartztrauber, Daniel, and Bradley Thompson; a brother Gene Schultheis, Newton Twp.; several great grandchildren, nieces , and nephews; and also her beloved cat, Nemo.

She was preceded in death by a son in law Donald S ch wartztrauber; three brothers, Hap, Bill and Arthur Schultheis.

The funeral will be Sunday at 5 pm from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.  Friends may call on Sunday from 2pm until the time of the service.
