Lois Wells of East Benton died peacefully Wednesday afternoon at The Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton. She was the widow of Francis "Frank" Wells, who died in 2015.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine McDonough Reimer. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church in Clarks Summit. With a heart as big as the moon, Lois happily gave to those in need. She was especially joyful when she was with her grandchildren and has left them a legacy of love.
Surviving are two daughters: Susan Shupp and her husband Mark, and Dorothy Peier and her husband Peter, all of East Benton; a son, David Wells, and his wife Jeri of Springville; five grandchildren: Heather Fischer and her husband Chris, Jillian Abballe and her fiancé Reynold Graham, Michael Abballe and his fiancée Megan Herring, Jacob Wells and his wife Mickayla, and Justin Wells and his wife Kristi; two great grandchildren: Emma and Sophia; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of The Jewish Home who loved Lois through the last five years of her life. You all have a special place in our hearts.
A private blessing service will be held at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with services by Rev. Stephen Asomah, assistant pastor of Our Lady of the Snows Church. Interment will follow in Chase Cemetery, Fleetville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Lois's name to The Jewish Home, 1101 Vine Street, Scranton, PA 18510.
