Lois J. Davis, R.N., of Clarks Summit, died Friday at the VNA Hospice at Community Medical Center. She and her husband, Roy Davis, had been married 44 years.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late J. Howard and Ruth Evans Stump, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1960, and a member of its reunion committee. She was a graduate of the Scranton State General Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1963. Lois began her nursing career at Moses Taylor Hospital and later worked at Allied Services for 25 years before retirement. She was a member of Jackson Street Baptist Church and its L.O.A. class. She was also a member of the Tuesday Bible study group at Parker Hill Community Church. She was an avid bingo player and a regular at the Lake Sheridan bingo and St. Mary's Church bingo in Dickson City.

She especially enjoyed spending summers at Lake Sheridan with her family. She also enjoyed traveling and never missed any events or sporting activities of her children and grandchildren.

Lois fought bravely for four years against cancer and gave nothing but encouragement and hope to her children. Her unwavering faith in God during this time made her a model of patience and courage. She was a source of inspiration to all who had known her. She passed away in peace and love, two qualities she always possessed, surrounded by her entire family.

Also surviving are two sons, Gary and wife, Jennifer, Clarks Summit; and Jim and wife, Becky, Clarks Summit; a daughter, Karyn Schaeffer and husband, Eric, Clarks Summit; four grandchildren, Celia, Clay, Colin and Evan; a brother, the Rev. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kalinowski.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Jackson Street Baptist Church, with services by the Rev. Kory Houser, pastor. Entombment will be in Glenwood Mausoleum, Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit.
