Lewis R. Malsberger of Clarks Green died Saturday evening in the hospice unit at Mercy Hospital. He was married to Barbara Rayl Malsberger, who died Dec. 9, 1996.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Richard and Justine Feather Malsberger. Due to the untimely death of his father, Lewis attended the Girard College in Philadelphia and then graduated from Pottstown High School. He furthered his education at Ball State University, Indiana. Before retirement, he was a quality-control manager for RCA. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarks Summit.

He was an avid golfer and member of the Pocono Farms Country Club. He also enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida.

Surviving are two sons, Mark L. and wife, Grace, Archbald; and Brian M., Arlington, Va.; a brother, Donald Bowman, Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, James and Lisa Malsberger; two great-grandchildren, Casey and Cameron Malsberger; a companion, Alma Herron; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Bowman.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit. Interment will be at a later date in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.

Friends may call Saturday, 1 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Mercy Hospital Hospice Unit.
