Leslie E. Daniels, 89, of Waverly, died Monday evening at Mt. View Care Center in Scranton. He was the husband of the late Shirley Flansburg Daniels who died in 2008.
Born in Chaumont NY, he was the son of the late Wesley and Harriet Dillenback Daniels. He was a graduate of Chaumont High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. Leslie went on to receive his Industrial Engineering degree from Syracuse
University.
He was employed as an engineer for Daystrom-Weston Industries and prior to his retirement was employed as an insurance salesman for Northwestern Mutual Life. He was a member of Masonic Lodge F&AM in NY and also of the First Baptist Church of Waverly.
Leslie was a loving man who always had a smile on his face and loved to laugh. His enjoyed his weekly breakfast ritual with his son Scott, but his main passion in life was spending time with his family especially his grandson Dillan. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving is a son Scott and his wife Lisa, S. Abington Twp.; two daughters Cathy Brody and her husband Robert, Massena NY; and Jaime D. Jones and her husband Douglas, Franklin TN.; a grandson Dillan Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother Wesley Daniels, and two sisters Sally Daniels and Dorothy Consaul.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff at Mountain View Care Center and the nurses of Traditional Home Health and Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to Leslie during his illness.
A funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 10am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit Pa. 18411., with services by Rev. Ken Knapp, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Waverly. Internment with military honors will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Waverly.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home.
