Leora LaCoe, 86, of Ransom Twp., died Friday evening at Mountain View Care Center in Scranton. She was the wife of the late Clayton LaCoe Sr. who died in 2007.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Horace and Eliza Coon Davies. She was a wonderful homemaker and engaged in farming with her husband on their family farm. She was a member of the Country Side Community Church, formerly the Milwaukee United Methodist Church where she was very active in many church functions .She also served for many years on the committee for the republican party and was active in the farmers market ladies auxiliary.
Leora loved and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her 28 years of living in florida for the winter with her husband Clayton. In her later years she had many phone friends who would look forward to her calls.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all who have helped in the care for Leora, especially The staff at the Mt. View Care center, The Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dr. Michael Gordon, Dr. Michael Kondash, and Dr. Ralph Demario. Also her care givers over the past four years including Debbie, Laura, Natalie, Melissa, Lisa, Sheri, Trisha, Alita, and Sue.


Surviving is a daughter Cheryl Kovalik, and husband Edward; a son Clayton Jr., and wife Debby; a brother Horace Davies, and wife Joyce; all of Ransom Twp. a sister Muriel Gallo, and husband John, Fleetville; two grandchildren Clayton III, and wife Sheri, also of Ransom Twp ;and Michael, and wife Marianna, of Furlong Pa ; and two great grandchildren Julia Grace and Thomas Clayton.

She was preceded in death by a sister Inez Spencer.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11am from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St. Clarks Summit. With services by Rev. Dr. Jean-Pierre Duncan, Pastor of the Country Side Community Church, in Newton Twp. Interment will be in Milwaukee Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.
